Project Overview

The Terminal 91 Berth 6 Redevelopment project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing the capacity, safety, and operational efficiency of the port facilities in Seattle. The project involves upgrading the existing berth structure and surrounding facilities to accommodate larger vessels, improve dock infrastructure, and meet modern shipping industry standards. Project Highlights

  • Complete demolition and reconstruction of Berth 6 to support modern marine vessels, including the installation of new steel piles and concrete decks for enhanced durability and load capacity.
  • Upgrades to existing mooring and fendering systems, including the installation of state-of-the-art marine fenders designed for high-performance.
  • Installation of new utilities, stormwater management systems, and electrical upgrades to support operations and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Demolition of approximately 62,250 square feet of condemned existing timber apron and 830 linear feet of seawall (northerly portion of Berth 6 and entire Berth 8)
  • Construction of a new 650 pounds per square foot pier tailored to fishing vessel and industrial customers, including applicable utilities, bollards, and steel fender system
  • Improve marine environment by removing creosote timber pilings
