Marina Dredging – Flounder Bay

Project Overview

Pacific Pile & Marine restored the marina to prior dredged elevations. The project included navigation pile removal and reinstallation. Work consisted of channel dredging, accurately placing sediment as eel grass bedding, dredging around City of Anacortes Outfall that had contamination potential, upland disposal, dredging in tight spaces (slips and fairways) in an active marina, slope dredging and open water disposal. Limited access required close proximity precision dredging. Dredging was performed with a 1200 Hitachi excavator and specialized barging equipment. Sediment was loaded onto barge. 450 excavator was set up on Rendrag/Flexifloat with spuds. Rehandle bucket was used in the channel. Material was loaded into containers stationed on the barge and transloaded for upland disposal.
