Howard Creek Bridge Replacement

Client Owner: Snohomish County
Location Gold Bar, WA
Scope Of Work Contract Value: < $3M
Schedule Oct-2016 - January-2019

Project Detail

Replace single-span, 61-ft timber stringer bridge built in 1976 over Howard Creek, located at mile 9 along Index-Galena Road, with a two-lane, 75-ft steel and pre-cast concrete girder bridge. The log girders used to build the original bridge are deteriorating deeming the structure “structurally deficient”. Traffic was restricted to one lane with a 5-ton weight limit since August 2008.

The new structure is an 80-foot long single-span bridge with steel girders and a concrete deck. It is now 28-feet wide to accommodate two lanes of traffic.
