Unalaska, AK – Pacific Pile & Marine (PPM) partnered with PND Engineers, Inc. (PND) to deliver the design-build Carl E. Moses Boat Harbor in Dutch Harbor, AK. The project was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Civil Engineering Project of the Year. PPM and PND were retained by the City of Unalaska to plan, permit, design, and construct the new boat harbor.
The harbor’s design included mooring slips for vessels 60- to 150-ft in length; aluminum gangways; gangway landing floats, transfer bridge, and drive-down floats; approximately 1,320 feet of mainwalk floats; and 2,310 feet of finger floats, all equipped with power, lighting, domestic water, and dry standpipe fire suppression systems.
