The Test Pile Program at the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 5 located along the Duwamish Waterway is in preparation of the larger T5 Berth Modernization project to provide better information for the planned upgrades to accommodate heavier cranes and provide deeper drafts for larger vessels involved in TransPacific trade.
The Test Pile Program calls for installation, dynamic testing, and removal of 27 offshore and landside concrete and steel pile along the edge of the Terminal 5 wharf. The Port is supplying six (6) of the offshore concrete test piles and nine (9) of the landside steel pipe piles (not to be removed). Pile range in length from 113-ft to 178-ft in length. Pacific Pile & Marine is performing this project in association with Applied Foundation Testing for the foundation testing.
