Sited as a Superfund site by the EPA, PPM supported this project, and was presented with an accelerated schedule as requested by the owner. Our support consisted of building a new barge loading and unloading facility, sheet pile, upland and in-water pile driving, contaminated dredging, demolition and removal of existing pier, and rebuild of two existing piers.
Numerous obstructions were encountered and dealt with. Efficient management of unforeseen conditions and inconsistent contract survey data enabled PPM to help the contractor meet project budget and actually exceed the accelerated schedule.
